Every great company starts with a small story, and ours started in 2022 in Nyamasaria, Kisumu.
Back then, we had just 5 employees, one small vehicle, and an annual revenue of KES 3 million. We operated like many others in the jua kali sector—long nights, countless challenges, and solutions powered by determination rather than systems.
What set us apart, however, was vision. A vision far greater than our size.
We believed that construction and interior design could be easier, smarter, and accessible to every hardware shop, technician, and household across Kenya. That belief became the fuel behind our persistence.
In just two years, we outgrew our modest Nyamasaria base and moved to Dago, Kisumu.
The move was symbolic—it marked a shift from jua kali hustle to corporate discipline. With ERP systems (Odoo), policies, and structured processes, we created accountability, efficiency, and scalability.

BUILDEX Green Commitment
At BUILDEX, growth must go hand in hand with sustainability. That’s why we launched the 1 Million Trees Initiative along the Kenyan belt of Mt. Kilimanjaro, starting in Oloitoktok, Kimana area Kajiado County. 
In November 2024, together with the people of Oloitoktok, we planted 6,000 trees in a single day.
To sustain this momentum, BUILDEX together with other partners pledged an additional KES 150,000 for the purchase of more seedlings—helping the area restore its green cover.
This effort is more than reforestation. It restores soils, reduces human–wildlife conflict, empowers communities, and contributes to the global fight against climate change.
Our goal is bold: 1,000,000 trees across the Kilimanjaro belt. For us, this is not charity—it is responsibility.
